Hey everyone, it’s your boy coming at you with another one of my wild adventures! So, I’ve been obsessed with “Jumanji” lately, especially the ones with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. I mean, who isn’t, right? The guy’s a legend! I decided to dive deep into his character, Dr. Smolder Bravestone, and let me tell you, it’s been a ride.
First off, I watched “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” and “Jumanji: The Next Level” back-to-back. Yeah, I know, I probably should have gotten some fresh air, but I was hooked! I wanted to see just how The Rock nailed that role. And oh boy, he did. It’s crazy! You can see how he switched up his vibe, especially when Danny DeVito’s character got sucked into the game and ended up as Bravestone in the second movie. The Rock basically channeled Danny DeVito, and it was hilarious!
Then, I started digging around online, you know, just to see what other people were saying. I found some articles about how charming The Rock is, even when his movies aren’t exactly Oscar-worthy. No offense, “Baywatch”! Some folks were even saying they watched “Jumanji” just to fall asleep! Seriously, I know! I actually watched both films again with my wife a ton of times, she thinks it is very comforting to watch that movie in bed before sleeping.
I also stumbled upon some discussions about whether it’s necessary to watch the older “Jumanji” movies to understand the new ones. Personally, I think it adds to the experience, but it’s not a must. I mean, the new ones stand on their own just fine. It’s more like, if you watch the old ones, you get a few extra little nods and references. So I decided to rewatch the old one, too.
Here’s what I realized after my little “Jumanji” marathon:
- The Rock is a master at playing different characters within the same character. Seriously, he goes from a nerdy teenager to a tough adventurer to an old man, and it’s believable every time!
- The “Jumanji” movies are just pure fun. They don’t take themselves too seriously, and that’s what makes them so enjoyable.
- I might need to watch more movies without The Rock in them. Just kidding… mostly.
So, what’s the takeaway?
Well, if you’re looking for a good laugh and some solid action, check out the “Jumanji” movies with The Rock. And if you’re already a fan, maybe take a closer look at how he plays Dr. Bravestone. It’s a pretty impressive performance, if you ask me.
Alright, that’s it for my “Jumanji” deep dive. What do you guys think? Let me know in the comments!
