Okay, so, I’ve been wanting to make a fun little trivia game about UFC for a while now. I’m a huge fan, and I thought it’d be cool to test my knowledge and maybe even challenge some of my buddies.
First, I started looking around to see what was already out there. I mean, there are tons of trivia games, but I wanted something specifically for UFC. I found a few things like the SB Nation UFC in-5 daily trivia game, which seemed pretty neat. Then I stumbled upon this app called “MMA Quiz Game” that has thousands of questions about UFC, BELLATOR, and just MMA in general. That was definitely a good find.
I also saw some websites listing out UFC trivia questions. One site had like 43 questions, which was a good starting point for me. It covered all sorts of stuff, from basic facts to more obscure details about fighters and events. Another one called “JetPunk” had a bunch of different UFC quizzes, including one about all the current UFC champions. That was pretty cool, too.
Then there was this other game called “Octagonle.” It’s not exactly a trivia game, but it’s related to MMA. You have to connect fighters through their fight history. It seemed like a fun way to test your knowledge of who fought who and when.
After checking out all these resources, I started to think about how I wanted to make my own game. I could go the simple route and just make a list of questions, or I could try to make it more interactive. I decided to go the online quiz route just to make things easier and more shareable with others.
So, I started collecting questions, I used some from the websites I found, and I also came up with some of my own. I tried to make sure I had a good mix of easy, medium, and hard questions. And I covered all different aspects of UFC, like the history, the fighters, the rules, and the events.
- Compile the questions: Use the websites mentioned as a starting point.
- Categorize: Group questions into easy, medium, and hard.
- Variety: Cover history, fighters, rules, and events.
Once I had a good list of questions, I used an online quiz maker I found to create the actual game. I won’t mention the name of the tool for obvious reasons, but it was pretty easy to use. I just had to copy and paste my questions in, choose the correct answers, and set up some basic settings. I messed around with it for a while until I was happy with how it looked and worked. In all, the process probably took me a week or so, and I was working on and off.
I also created another quiz for fun, this one was about guessing UFC fighters based on facts about them. That one was also pretty fun to make and play. It tests your knowledge of individual fighters and their careers. This one was more difficult, as many fighters have similar careers or stats. I spent about 3-4 days making this one.
I shared the quizzes with some of my friends, and they seemed to enjoy them. It was a fun way to kill some time and test our UFC knowledge. I might make some more quizzes in the future, maybe on specific topics like “Knockouts of the Year” or “Best Fights Ever.” We’ll see.
What I Learned
Making these trivia games was a fun little project. It wasn’t too difficult, but it did take some time and effort. I learned a lot about UFC in the process, and I also got better at using online quiz-making tools. It was cool to see my friends enjoy the games, and it made me want to make more in the future.
Overall, it was a cool little experience. If you’re a UFC fan and you’re looking for a fun way to test your knowledge, I definitely recommend trying to make your own trivia game. It’s not as hard as you might think.
