Okay, so I’ve been meaning to compile a list of WWE champions for a while now, and I finally got around to doing it today. It was more involved than I initially thought, but hey, I got it done, and I’m here to share the process with y’all.
First off, I needed to figure out which championship I wanted to focus on. There are so many! You got the WWE Championship, the Universal Championship, and a bunch of others from Raw, SmackDown, and NXT. I decided to stick with the main one, the good old WWE Championship. That seemed like a good starting point, you know?
So, I started digging. My first instinct was to check out the official WWE website. I mean, where else would you get the most accurate info, right? I found some good stuff there, like the current champ, but it wasn’t a complete list of all past champions.
Then I hit up Wikipedia. That place is a goldmine of information, usually. And yep, I found an article specifically about the list of WWE Champions. It had some useful bits, like who has the most reigns. Turns out, John Cena is the king with a whopping 13 reigns. I mean, that dude is a legend!
- I also learned that the current champion is Cody Rhodes.
- He won the title at WrestleMania 40 by defeating Roman Reigns.
- That match was called a “Bloodline Rules” match, which sounds pretty intense!
I also stumbled upon some info about Ric Flair’s championship reigns. Apparently, in WCW, he was an 8-time champion, but WWE only recognizes 6 of those. Kinda weird, right? Anyway, that’s a rabbit hole for another day.
After gathering all this info, I started putting together my list. I wanted it to be chronological, starting from the very first champion. I gotta say, it was pretty cool to see how the championship has changed hands over the years. There have been some real icons who have held that title.
Putting it All Together
It took a good chunk of time, but I eventually managed to compile a pretty comprehensive list of WWE Champions. I even noted down some key details for each champion, like when they won the title and who they beat. It was a bit of a tedious process, I won’t lie, but it was also kinda fun.
I’m thinking of doing this for other championships too, like the Universal Championship or maybe even some of the tag team titles. It’s a cool way to learn more about the history of wrestling and appreciate all the amazing athletes who have competed in WWE.
Anyway, that’s my little adventure for today. Hope you found it somewhat interesting. Maybe it’ll inspire you to do some digging of your own into the world of wrestling. It’s a wild ride, that’s for sure!
