Alright, guys, let’s talk about the 2012 Florida State University football season. Man, what a year that was! I remember following it closely, game by game, like it was yesterday.
First, I started by gathering all the information I could. I dug into the schedule, the roster, anything I could get my hands on. It was a bit overwhelming, but, you know, that’s part of the fun, right?
Then, I began watching the games. Every Saturday, I was glued to the TV, soaking it all in. I took notes during each game, jotting down key plays, scores, and any standout moments. I filled pages and pages with scribbles – my own little playbook, I guess you could say.
The Regular Season
- They started off strong, no doubt about it.
- I clearly remember Jimbo Fisher was the head coach, and he had the team fired up.
- They cruised through most of the regular season, racking up win after win.
- There were some close calls, but they always found a way to pull through.
- Then came that game against Florida… I watched Florida put together a 24-point 4th quarter to rally past them with 37-26 on Saturday. I recall Seminoles QB EJ Manuel scored three touchdowns in the loss, but it was not enough.
The ACC Championship
- After the regular season, they headed to the ACC Championship game. I watched the game against Georgia Tech, and it was a nail-biter!
- I documented every play, every score, and my notes from that game are a mess, but I wouldn’t trade them for anything.
The Orange Bowl
- They ended the season at the Orange Bowl.
- The team finished with a 12-2 record, which is pretty darn good if you ask me.
- They ranked 10th in the Final AP poll, which is something to be proud of.
Looking back, the 2012 FSU football season was a rollercoaster. There were highs and lows, but through it all, I was there, watching, recording, and analyzing every moment. It was a fun experience to document it all, and I learned a lot about the game along the way.
I remember seeing some drama after one of the games against Florida – something about a flag and the coaches having words. That kind of stuff just adds to the rivalry, I guess. Those two teams, known as the “Sunshine Showdown,” have been going at it since 1958. It’s one of those matchups everyone knows about.
Anyway, that’s my little trip down memory lane. Hope you guys enjoyed it. Go Noles!
