Okay, so I’ve been digging into this Tez Johnson NFL Draft buzz, and let me tell you, it’s been a ride.
First off, I started by checking out the news that Tez Johnson, you know, the wide receiver from the Oregon Ducks, had officially declared for the 2025 NFL Draft. He made some post on social media, thanking everyone from his mom to the folks in Autzen Stadium. Class act, that guy.
Then I dove into projections. Most places I looked at seem to think he’s a third-round pick, which sounds about right to me. He’s got talent, but he’s not a sure-fire first-rounder. I also saw something about the draft order, with the Titans at No. 1 and the Seahawks at No. 18. Could be interesting to see where Tez lands if that holds up.
Diving Deeper into Tez’s Game
- I watched some of his games, especially that one where he faced off against Georgia. Honestly, he didn’t do a whole lot in that one. Just one catch for 22 yards, if I recall correctly. That brought his total for the year to just 532 yards. Not exactly eye-popping numbers.
- But here’s the thing: even when he’s not putting up huge stats, the guy is electric. He’s quick, he’s agile, and he just seems to have a knack for getting open. He’s the kind of player who can make an impact, especially from the slot. I read a bunch of scouting reports that basically said the same thing: he’s a “chain-moving slot receiver.” Sounds pretty accurate to me.
I also learned that he used to play for Troy and that he’s the adopted younger brother of Bo Nix, the Oregon quarterback. Small world, huh? Anyway, he transferred to Oregon, and that’s where he really started to shine. It also appears that his draft stock has been trending upwards all season.
From what I can gather, he’s an ideal fit for those West Coast offenses that rely on quick passes. I imagine him running slants and just generally being a pain in the butt for defenses. I think in the NFL, he’ll mostly stick to the slot, and maybe even do some returning, especially with the new kickoff rules.
I also noticed that some people seem a little hesitant about him. I guess they’re worried that his performance against Georgia is a sign of things to come. But I’m not so sure. I think he’s got the potential to be a real asset to an NFL team. I even saw someone mention the Miami Dolphins as a possible landing spot. That would be a fun fit, wouldn’t it?
