Alright, so I’ve been messing around with this Boothill character in Honkai Star Rail, trying to figure out the best gear for him. Specifically, I spent a good chunk of time experimenting with different Light Cones. Let me tell you, it was a journey.
I started with the 5-star Light Cones, ’cause, you know, gotta aim high. Naturally, I had my eye on “Sailing Towards A Second Life” – it’s his signature Light Cone, so it’s gotta be good, right? And yeah, it’s pretty sweet. It boosts Boothill’s Break Effect, which is a big deal for him. Plus, it lets his Break DMG ignore some of the enemy’s defense. I slapped that on him and ran a few simulations. The numbers were definitely looking good.
But I’m a F2P(free-to-play) player, and I know that not everyone is willing to try hard for those top-tier items. So I also dug into the more accessible options. That’s where “Cruising in the Stellar Sea” comes in. You can grab this one from the Herta store, which is super convenient. I spent some time maxing it out, getting it to Superimposition 5.
Here’s the cool thing about “Cruising in the Stellar Sea” – it gives Boothill a nice bump in Crit Rate and Attack. I noticed a solid improvement in his damage output when I switched to this one. It made a noticeable difference on those tougher enemies. I mean it when I say the damage boost was not just a tiny bit, it’s the real deal.
- Tested “Sailing Towards A Second Life”: Saw a big increase in Break DMG.
- Maxed out “Cruising in the Stellar Sea”: Noticed a solid boost in Crit Rate and Attack.
- Compared the two: Both are great, but “Cruising in the Stellar Sea” is more accessible.
After all that testing, I’ve come to the conclusion that both Light Cones are awesome for Boothill. I think he is a really strong character. If you managed to snag “Sailing Towards A Second Life”, great! But if not, don’t sweat it. “Cruising in the Stellar Sea” is a fantastic alternative that won’t hold you back. Honestly, I’m leaning towards recommending it for most players, just because it’s so much easier to get. My tests weren’t just for show, I really put these Light Cones through their paces. And in the end, I felt like “Cruising in the Stellar Sea” provided more value.
I also messed around with team composition. I found that pairing Boothill with the harmony Trailblazer, Tingyun, and Gallagher worked really well. The harmony Trailblazer’s ultimate is kinda like a mini Ruan Mei, giving the team a nice damage boost when breaking enemy weaknesses. With this team, when you break them, you really break them.
So that’s my Boothill Light Cone experiment in a nutshell. Hopefully, my experience can save you some time and resources. Good luck with your pulls!
