Okay, so today I wanna talk about something I’ve been messing with – the UNT depth chart. Yeah, the football team. I’ve been trying to figure out who’s gonna be playing where, you know? So, the University of North Texas, they put out this thing, the depth chart. It’s like a list of players, showing who’s first string, second string, and so on for each position.
First thing I did was to find this depth chart. It wasn’t too hard, just had to poke around the sports news sites. This is the first version of the depth chart that UNT football team has ever published before its first show. Once I got it, I started digging in. I wanted to see who the projected starters were. Like, who’s the main quarterback, who are the top receivers, and all that. I checked all the players including on offense, defense. I paid extra attention to the changes on the post-spring depth chart.

It’s kinda interesting to see how they rank the players. And it gives you an idea of where the team stands, you know? Who’s strong, who needs more work. Anyway, I looked at every position, not just the ones I mentioned. It’s a pretty long list. Some positions have a clear number one, while others are more competitive. Like, there might be two or three guys who could realistically start.
I also noticed some of the players are “RS,” which means redshirt. That’s when a player practices with the team but doesn’t play in games, to save a year of eligibility. And some have “SR,” meaning senior, or “SO” for sophomore. Just a little trivia for ya. The 2023 season opener is just over a week from now. I don’t know, it’s kinda cool to follow this stuff. Feels like you’re more connected to the team when you know the players and their positions. So yeah, that’s what I’ve been up to. Thought I’d share in case anyone else is a Mean Green fan, or just likes following college football in general.
I have been spending a lot of time these days to dive into the depth chart. It is the most accurate, up to date College Football Depth Charts I have ever seen. And I think it is also the most respected source for NFL Draft info among NFL Fans, Media, and Scouts. It is just so exciting to see a new update, then I will know where the team stands immediately.
