Okay, so I was messing around with this “Zenless Zone Zero” thing, and I stumbled upon something called “drip marketing.” Sounds fancy, right? Well, it kinda is, but also not really. I mean, it’s just a way to keep people hooked, like those TV shows that leave you hanging at the end of every episode.

So, first, I watched this trailer for “Zenless Zone Zero” at some gaming event called TGA 2024. Pretty cool, lots of action and stuff. There was this character, Evelyn, following another character, Astra Yao, throughout the whole video. I did not find anything special.
Then, I noticed that these guys are dropping little bits of info about the game here and there. Like, they’ll release a character’s name, then a little bit of their backstory, then maybe a short clip of them in action. It’s like they’re feeding us crumbs, keeping us wanting more. I checked some information about this game on the internet. It seems that they’ve been doing this for a while. Someone online said something like, “Wouldn’t expect 1.6 drip market until after 1.5 livestream,” which, honestly, made zero sense to me at the time. And what’s up with the numbers? It feels like there’s no pattern to it.
The tricky part is, it works. I found myself checking their website and social media every day, hoping for a new tidbit. It’s like a slow burn. And apparently, they even held some fan art contest called “Drip Fest.” I guess it is a smart move to get people involved and creating stuff. It builds up the hype, you know?
So yeah, that’s my experience with “drip marketing” and “Zenless Zone Zero.” I have to say, it’s a clever way to keep people engaged. But also, it’s kinda frustrating! Just give us the whole game already! But hey, at least it’s keeping me entertained while I wait. I guess I’ll just keep following along and see what they reveal next. Who knows, maybe I’ll even try to draw some fan art myself.
What I Learned:
- “Drip marketing” is about releasing small pieces of information over time.
- It’s used to build anticipation and keep people engaged.
- “Zenless Zone Zero” is using this strategy.
- They had a fan art contest called “Drip Fest.”
- It’s working on me… I think.
My Thoughts
It is really interesting, but I still prefer to get all the information at once. But this “drip” thing is making me curious, so I guess it’s kind of working. I will keep my eyes on it.
