Okay, so, I got this quest called “Societal Alchemy” in Final Fantasy XIV. Man, what a ride it was. The whole thing started with this guy named Yezahn in Thavnair, around the coordinates X:29.7, or something like that. I don’t know the exact numbers, but you can find him, I guess. Anyway, I am a level 80, and I can handle pretty much anything the game throws at me.
So, first, Yezahn told me to go search for some junk, something like “discarded baubles” to the northwest of Palaka’s Stand. I was like, “Alright, whatever,” and off I went. I’m not really sure what these “baubles” were, but I did find them. I guess they just look like random stuff on the ground.
After that, I had to talk to a bunch of people. First up was Sula. I found her somewhere, said “hi” and all that. I don’t know who she is, but she seemed to know something about this whole thing. Then, I went back to Palaka’s Stand and chatted with Yezahn again. He sent me to talk to some other lady, Pasareen. She seemed pretty upset about something, not really ready to “forgive herself,” as the game said. I guess she did something wrong in the past, and it still bugs her, I guess.
I talked to her, and then I had to go back to Yezahn one last time. He had some final thing for me, I can not remember. It’s like a blur of running around, talking to people, and picking up random junk. Honestly, the whole thing was kind of confusing.
And I mean, all the quest description text kept changing! You know, that stuff that’s supposed to tell you what to do? You had to hover your mouse over it to see different conditions and stuff. Super weird. It’s like they couldn’t make up their minds about what I was supposed to be doing.
But yeah, that’s basically it. I finished the quest, got my rewards, and moved on. It wasn’t the most exciting thing I’ve ever done in the game, but hey, it’s something, right? Just another day in the life of a Warrior of Light, I guess.
