Okay, so yesterday, I was trying to get a handle on who’s been playing on both the Bears and the Cowboys. You know, just one of those random things you get curious about.
I started off by just Googling around, trying to find a list of current Bears players. Found this one site, looked pretty official, and it had a full list. Names, positions, the whole deal. They even had a section on recent trades and stuff, which was kinda cool. I saw that they mentioned a few rookies, like Gervon Dexter Sr, who apparently started in Week 1, and Tyler Scott, a fourth-round pick. Noted those down just for kicks.
Then I figured, why not look at the Cowboys’ side of things? I found another site that showed the players who’ve been on both teams. Pretty neat, huh? Turns out there’s been a good chunk of players who’ve worn both jerseys, like 80 or so. They highlight the active ones in bold, which was helpful. They even mentioned a Hall of Famer, Chuck Howley, who played for both teams. That’s some trivia right there.
Here’s what I did next:
- Made a list of all the players mentioned on both sites.
- Compared them to see who’s played for both teams.
- Looked up some of the standout names to see what they did with each team.
Digging Deeper
I got a little carried away and started looking up where these guys came from. Found out that St. Louis doesn’t have its own NFL team, but there are a bunch of players from there. I guess they end up on different teams all over the league.
I even stumbled upon the roster for Washington University in St. Louis. Totally different level, of course, but it was interesting to see how college football feeds into the pros.
So, that’s basically what I did yesterday. A little bit of digging, a lot of reading, and now I know way more about Bears and Cowboys players than I ever thought I would. It’s funny where a simple question can take you, right?
It’s nothing to do, just find some fun for myself.
Anyway, I just wanted to share this little adventure. Maybe it’ll spark someone else’s curiosity, or maybe it’s just a fun read. Either way, hope you enjoyed my little info-gathering.
