Okay, here is a blog post about coming up with fantasy football names related to the Cincinnati Bengals:
So, the new football season is just around the corner, and like many of you, I’m getting ready for my fantasy football drafts. One of the best parts, at least for me, is coming up with a hilarious team name. This year, I’m feeling the Bengals, so I’ve been brainstorming some Bengals-themed fantasy football names.
First, I spent time thinking about what makes the Bengals, well, the Bengals. You got Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase, that wild run to the Super Bowl a couple of years ago… and, of course, the jungle theme. There is definitely a lot to work with there!
I started jotting down ideas, some obvious, some not so much. I did a quick search online, but honestly, most of what I found was pretty lame. Here’s what I personally tried to do:
- Thinking about the players: This was the easiest starting point. Burrow, Chase, Mixon, Higgins… These guys are fantasy gold, so naturally, they should be in the name.
- Remembering the slogans: “Who Dey” is a classic, and it was for sure used for my team’s name! “Rule the Jungle” is another good one. I felt like I could make something work with those.
- Making it funny: This is fantasy football, so the name’s gotta have a little humor, right? I tried puns, wordplay, anything to get a chuckle.
Here are some of the ideas that I came up with. These first few are centered around Joe Burrow:
- Burrow’s Backyard Blitz
- Joe Cool’s Crew
- Burrow’s Bengal Brigade
Then, I tried to get a little more creative, playing off the “Who Dey” chant and the jungle theme:
- Who Dey Think Gonna Beat My Team?
- Jungle Cats and Gridiron Stats
- Welcome to the Fantasy Jungle
And then there were the names that were just kind of silly or out there:
- Stripes and Touchdowns
- Orange Crush-ing It
- Bengal Blitzkrieg
I even tried to make up some names with players’ names:
- Ja’Marr the Merrier
- Chase is on the Case
- Higgins’ Heroes
- Mixon Matchups
After about an hour of messing around, I finally settled on my team name: Burrow’s Bengals. It’s simple, it’s got my favorite player in it, and it is to the point. I am sure it is going to make me win! I was happy to get that decided, so I moved on and built my team. I ended up drafting Joe Burrow, so it all worked out! Hope this helps anyone trying to come up with a team name this year!
