Okay, so I saw this thing online about Diane Keaton at the US Open, and I just had to try to recreate her look. It looked so cool and effortless, you know?
My Attempt to Copy Diane Keaton’s US Open Style
First off, I watched this video of her that she posted on her Instagram. She’s just the coolest, isn’t she? I mean, ever since she was in Annie Hall, she’s been my style icon. So, I was determined to make this work.
I started by digging through my closet. I figured I needed something similar to what she wore. She had this all-black getup with this super wide-brimmed hat. I pulled out my favorite black turtleneck. It’s kinda old, but it still does the job. Then, I found these wide-leg black pants that I haven’t worn in ages. They were a bit dusty, but nothing a quick lint roller couldn’t fix.
Now, the hat was the tricky part. I didn’t have anything even close to that wide-brimmed one she had on. I rummaged through my accessories and found this old, floppy sun hat. It wasn’t the same, but I thought, “Hey, it’s close enough.” It’s not like I was going to the actual US Open or anything.
Putting it all together was the fun part. I slipped on the turtleneck and the pants. Then, I added this chunky black belt to cinch in my waist a bit. Diane had a belt on, too, so I felt like I was on the right track. I popped the hat on my head, and voila! I looked… well, I looked like I tried, at least.
- The Outfit:
- Black turtleneck
- Wide-leg black pants
- Chunky black belt
- Floppy sun hat (not quite the same, but close)
I took a few selfies, trying to mimic Diane’s pose from the video. It wasn’t perfect, but it was fun playing dress-up. Plus, it made me appreciate Diane Keaton’s style even more. She just rocks everything she wears. I think it was the spirit of Diane Keaton style that I captured.
This little experiment of mine just reminded me that fashion should be fun. It’s all about expressing yourself and not being afraid to try new things. I was happy that I tried it today.
