Okay, so, I went to the Beaver Stadium for a game the other day, and I was wondering if it’s cashless or not. So I did a little digging beforehand.
First, I checked the official website of Penn State Athletics. But I didn’t find a clear answer to whether Beaver Stadium is cashless. It was kind of a pain.
Then, I tried to look up some recent news articles or blogs about it. Found some forum discussions, but the information was all over the place. Some people said it’s completely cashless, while others mentioned that they still accept cash in certain areas. What a mess!
So, I decided to call the stadium’s customer service. After being on hold for like 20 minutes, I finally got through to a real person. I asked them directly, “Is Beaver Stadium cashless?”
The person on the other end confirmed that Beaver Stadium has gone mostly cashless. They said that most of the concessions and vendors inside the stadium only accept credit cards, debit cards, or mobile payments like Apple Pay and Google Pay.
But here’s the kicker, they also told me that there are a few “cash-to-card” kiosks located throughout the stadium. Basically, you can put your cash into these machines and get a prepaid card in return. You can then use this card at any vendor inside the stadium. Pretty neat, I guess.
My experience at the game:
- I brought some cash with me just in case, and I also made sure I had my credit card and phone ready for mobile payments.
- When I got to the stadium, I noticed that most of the food stands had signs saying they only accept cards and mobile payments.
- I ended up using my credit card for most of my purchases, and it worked out fine. It was actually pretty quick and convenient.
- I did see a few people using the cash-to-card kiosks. Seemed easy enough, but I didn’t need to use them myself.
So, to answer the question, yes, Beaver Stadium is mostly cashless. But they do have those cash-to-card kiosks as a backup. I guess it’s a good idea to bring a card or have your mobile payment set up, just to be safe. That’s all about it!
