Okay, so, today’s project was all about “quarter time basketball.” Let me tell you, it was a bit of a wild ride, but we got there in the end.
Getting Started
First things first, I needed to figure out what I actually wanted to do. I mean, “quarter time basketball” is pretty broad, right? I decided to focus on tracking and analyzing some basic stats during a game. Nothing too fancy, just something to get my feet wet.
Gathering the Tools
Next up, I had to gather my tools. Luckily, I already had most of what I needed:
- A basketball game: I just watched a game on TV.
- A notebook and pen: Old school, I know, but it works.
- A timer: My phone’s stopwatch did the trick.
The Experiment
So, the game started, and I started scribbling. Every time a quarter ended, I jotted down some key things:
- The score
- Who had the most points
- Any big plays or turnarounds
Honestly, keeping up was a bit of a scramble at times. There’s a lot going on in a basketball game! But I did my best to keep track of everything, and by the end of the game, I had a pretty decent set of notes.
Making Sense of it All
After the game, I took some time to look over my notes. It was interesting to see how the game flowed from quarter to quarter. Some players really stepped up in certain quarters, while others faded. There were definitely some surprises! One time, the leading team lose their advantage in the last quarter, making the whole game changed.
Wrapping Up
All in all, it was a fun little experiment. I learned a bit more about basketball, and I got to practice my observation and note-taking skills. It’s not exactly rocket science, but it was a good way to spend an afternoon. Maybe next time, I’ll try tracking some more advanced stats or even try it out at a live game. Who knows! This is what all about, try and fail, then try again until I get it!
