So, I’ve been getting into tennis lately, and I’m a huge fan of Iga Swiatek. She’s amazing, right? I was curious about her gear, especially her racquet. Turns out, she’s not using one of those big-name brands like Wilson that you see a lot of the pros using.
I dug around a bit and found out she uses a Tecnifibre racquet. Interesting, huh? I mean, everyone knows players like Federer and Serena used Wilson, but Swiatek, she’s doing her own thing. This made me want to try it out, just to see what the hype is about.
I went down to my local sports store, and sure enough, they had a few Tecnifibre racquets. They didn’t have the exact model that Swiatek uses, which is probably some custom-made thing, but I picked up a similar one to get a feel for it.
- First impression: It felt pretty good in my hand. Not too heavy, not too light, just a solid, well-balanced racquet.
- I took a few practice swings, and it felt smooth. I could imagine hitting some decent shots with it.
- Then, I asked them to get me a more professional one, and I bought a similar Tecnifibre one.
I took it out to the court a few times already. And you know what? I think I get why Swiatek likes it. It’s responsive, and it feels like I can really control the ball. I’m no pro, obviously, but I felt like my shots were a bit more consistent.
I’m definitely going to keep playing with it. Who knows, maybe this Tecnifibre racquet is the secret weapon I’ve been missing! Or maybe I just like it cause it reminds me of Swiatek. Either way, it’s been a fun little experiment.
Give it a try
If you’re looking for a new racquet, or just curious about what else is out there besides the usual brands, I’d say give Tecnifibre a look. You might be surprised!
