Alright, so I wanted to share this little project I’ve been messing around with – making my own bucked-up cup. You know, one of those shaker bottles that everyone’s using at the gym? I figured, why not try to make one myself? Seemed like a fun little challenge.
First off, I gathered all the stuff I needed. This was pretty straightforward. I grabbed an old plastic bottle I had lying around, the kind with a wide mouth. It was just a regular water bottle, nothing fancy. Then I needed something to make it into a shaker, so I found this metal spring ball thingy from an old protein shaker that I wasn’t using anymore. Cleaned that up real good, obviously.

Getting to Work
So, the first thing I did was make sure the bottle was clean. Gave it a good wash and let it dry completely. Then, I took the metal spring ball and checked if it fit nicely inside the bottle. It did, which was great. The idea is that this ball helps mix the powder and liquid when you shake it, right?
Next up, I had to figure out how to keep the ball inside the bottle but still allow it to move around. I decided to use some strong glue to attach the lid’s inner part to the bottle’s mouth. It was a bit tricky, had to make sure I didn’t glue the whole thing shut! I just put glue around the edges of the lid’s inside and stuck it to the bottle’s mouth. Waited a bit for it to dry, just to be sure.
While I was waiting for the glue to dry, I noticed the bottle’s surface was a bit slippery. I thought it might be better to have some grip, especially when my hands get sweaty at the gym. So, I took some sandpaper and lightly sanded the outside of the bottle. Nothing too crazy, just enough to give it a bit of a rough texture.
Finishing Touches
After the glue dried, I tested it out. I put the metal ball inside, added some water, and gave it a good shake. It worked! The ball moved around just like it should, mixing the water. I was pretty stoked at this point. It’s a small thing, but it felt good to see my little project working out.
And that’s basically it. I ended up with a homemade shaker bottle. It’s not super fancy or anything, but it does the job. Plus, it was kind of cool to make something I can actually use. I’ve been using it for my pre-workout drinks, and it’s been holding up pretty well. It is a fun, little DIY project, and who knows, maybe I’ll try to improve it later on. For now, though, I’m pretty happy with my DIY bucked-up cup!
