Okay, so I’ve been seeing this name, Sam Bennett, popping up everywhere in the golfing world. I figured it was time to do a deep dive and really figure out who this guy is. So here’s what my process was.
Starting Simple
First things first, I fired up my browser. I needed the basics. You know, age, where he’s from, that sort of stuff. I needed to get a feel for his background and the outline of his career so far.
Digging into stats
Next, I went to some sports news sites. Those places are great for finding recent tournament results and overall performance statistics. I scrolled through articles and looked at scorecards, trying to build a timeline of his career progression. I wanted to see if he’d been playing consistently well, or if he had any major wins or losses that stood out.
Watching some Footage
Stats are one thing, but I really wanted to see this guy in action. I mean, that the only way to see and fully understand how good someone is right? So I found a video clip on the sports website.
I spent a good chunk of time watching his highlights. I paid close attention to his swing, his putting style, and how he handled himself on the course. It’s those little things that often separate the good players from the great ones. Was his swing powerful? Did he seem calm under pressure? Was his short game sharp? Those are the things I wanted to answer.
Figuring Out the Buzz
The last thing I did was try to figure out why people were talking about him. What was the story? Was he an up-and-coming star? Was he making a comeback? Had he done something controversial? I read several articles about it.
So, after going through all of that, I have a much better understanding. It was a good use of my day!
