Okay, so I’ve been wanting a new watch for a while, and I’ve been eyeing those cool Japanese domestic market (JDM) watches. You know, the ones that aren’t usually sold outside of Japan? I finally decided to take the plunge and get one, and I figured I’d document the whole process.

Finding the Right Watch
First, I spent hours, and I mean hours, browsing online. I looked at tons of pictures and read forum posts. I was mostly interested in Seiko, because, well, they’re awesome. I narrowed it down to a few models that I really liked the look of, mostly divers and some of those classic, clean-dialed dress watches.
Finding a Seller
Then came the tricky part: actually finding a way to buy one. These aren’t exactly on Amazon, you know?I stumbled across a few websites that specialize in JDM watches, I compared prices and shipping, which was a bit of a headache. Then,I tried to use Google *,I chose a website.
Making the Purchase
Once I picked my seller and found the exact watch I wanted (a beautiful Seiko SARB033, if you’re curious), I added to my * payment process was pretty straightforward. I used my credit card, and everything went through smoothly.I received an order confirmation email, and then the waiting game began.
The Wait (and the Excitement!)
The shipping took a little longer than I’m used to, I checked the tracking number every day,I received the watch,it’s beautiful,I love it!
So, that’s my JDM watch buying adventure! It took a little more effort than just walking into a store, but I think it was totally worth it. I got a unique watch that I love, and I learned a bit about the process along the way.
