Okay, so today I decided to finally figure out who would win in a head-to-head, the Phoenix Suns or the Los Angeles Lakers. I’ve heard arguments for both sides, so I wanted to do a little experiment myself.

My Gaming Setup
First, I fired up my trusty gaming rig. I’m running a pretty decent setup – nothing too fancy, but it gets the job done. I needed a game that could realistically simulate a basketball game, so naturally, I went with the latest NBA 2K.
Setting up the Game
I made sure both teams were updated with the current rosters and player stats. You know, gotta keep it accurate! I also set the difficulty to “Hall of Fame” because, why not? Let’s make it challenging.
- Selected Teams: Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Lakers
- Game Mode: Play Now
- Difficulty: Hall of Fame
- Quarter Length: 6 Minutes
Game 1: Suns Victory
I started by playing as the Suns. Man, controlling Devin Booker was smooth! His shots were falling, and I was able to get some good looks for Kevin Durant too. The Lakers, even with LeBron and AD, were struggling to keep up with my (well, the Suns’) offensive firepower. I ended up winning by a comfortable margin, something like 112-98.
Game 2: Lakers Strike Back
Switched sides for the second game. This time, I took control of the Lakers. It took a bit to get used to LeBron’s playstyle in the game, but once I did, it was game on. I focused on getting Anthony Davis involved in the paint, and he dominated. I also hit some crucial threes with Austin Reaves. This one was much closer, but the Lakers pulled off a 105-101 victory.
Game 3: Rubber Match!
Alright, tiebreaker time! I went back to the Suns for this one. It was a back-and-forth battle. Both teams were trading baskets, and the lead changed multiple times. In the final seconds, I had the ball with Booker, down by one. I drove to the basket, drew the foul… and hit both free throws! Suns win by one! It came down to 117-116.
The Verdict (for today, at least)
So, based on my highly scientific (ha!) experiment, I’m giving the edge to the Phoenix Suns. 2 wins out of 3 games. Of course, this is just a game, and real-life basketball is much more complex. But hey, it was fun to play it out and see what could happen.
Maybe I’ll try this again with different settings, or maybe try to use that Game Plan feature in the game. I also didn’t adjust any Coach Settings at all, I might try to make them more alike in the future.
