Okay, so I got this idea to mess around with crossword puzzles, specifically ones about academic nicknames. Here’s how it all went down.
First, I brainstormed a bunch of academic fields and their common nicknames. Think “poli sci” for political science, “econ” for economics, stuff like that. I just jotted them down on a piece of paper, nothing fancy.
Next, I tried to find an online crossword puzzle maker. There are a ton of these things, but many needed subscriptions, I just googled it.
My Little Process
- Find a free online crossword maker.
- Input the nicknames and their full forms as clues and answers.
- Generate the puzzle. Some sites let you customize the difficulty, which is cool.
- Test and Refine and print it.
Then I started playing around with the puzzle myself, just to make sure everything made sense. Sometimes, the clues were too easy or too hard, So I just keep trying until It worked pretty well.
Finally, I got a pretty decent crossword! It’s not gonna win any awards, but it was a fun little project. I might make more of these in the future, maybe with different themes. who knows?
