Okay, so today was “Alvin Day Football,” and let me tell you, it was a whole thing. It all started this morning when I woke up and thought, “You know what? I’m gonna have a football-themed day.” I’m no pro, obviously, but I figured, why not?

First things first, I dug out my old football. It’s seen better days, all scuffed up and a little deflated, but hey, it still bounces… sort of. I spent a good hour just tossing it up in the air and trying to catch it. My neighbor’s dog, Buster, was VERY interested. He kept trying to intercept my passes, the little rascal.
Then, I thought, “Gotta practice my throwing!” I set up a makeshift target in my backyard – basically, I hung an old tire from a tree branch. Let’s just say my accuracy needs some work. I hit the tree, the fence, even the birdbath… but the tire? Not so much. I think I managed to get the ball through it, like, twice in an hour. But hey, I was having fun, that counts!
The Sweat and Tears part!
- Warm-up: Just some basic stretches and jumping jacks. Gotta avoid those pulled muscles!
- Throwing Practice: The aforementioned tire incident.
- Catching Practice: Mostly me chasing after the ball after I missed a catch.
- Running Drills: Okay, more like “slightly faster walking” drills.
After all that “intense” training, I was starving. I made myself a giant plate of nachos – because what’s football without nachos, right? – and watched some old game highlights on my computer. Those guys are amazing! The speed, the agility… it’s mind-blowing.
In the afternoon, I decided to try to find some local, playing in real.I figured they would be up for playing, and I went to the park near my * played for an hour or so, I did my best but I think I need a bit more practice to keep up with their pace.
So, yeah, that was my “Alvin Day Football.” It wasn’t glamorous, and I definitely won’t be joining the NFL anytime soon, but I had a blast. It was good to get outside, get some exercise, and just mess around with a football. Maybe I’ll make this a regular thing. Who knows, maybe next time I’ll actually hit the tire more than twice!
