Alright, so I wanted to keep better track of how Dalvin Cook was doing, you know, for fantasy and just general interest. I decided the best way was to actually make a game log myself. Here’s how I went about it.

Getting Started
First, I needed to find a place to, like, get all the stats. Just googling “Dalvin Cook stats” wasn’t cutting it. I needed something I could really dig into, game by game.
Finding the Data
So, I looked around at a bunch of sports sites. I needed one that had detailed game logs for each player. I found a couple of sites that were helpful and decided on one of them because I liked its layout.
Building the Log
I wasn’t going to do anything fancy, no coding or anything. I opened up a spreadsheet – good old Google Sheets did the trick.
- Column 1: Date. Pretty obvious, needed to know when each game happened.
- Column 2: Opponent. Who were the Vikings playing?
- Column 3: Rushing Attempts. How many times did he carry the ball?
- Column 4: Rushing Yards. How far did he run?
- Column 5: Rushing TDs. Did he score any rushing touchdowns?
- Column 6: Receptions. How many passes did he catch?
- Column 7: Receiving Yards. How many yards did he gain from those catches?
- Column 8: Receiving TDs. Did he score any receiving touchdowns?
- Column 9: Total fantasy points.Used for my fantasy football.
Putting it All Together
Then came the boring part, but it had to be done. I went through each game of the season, one by one, and entered all the stats into my spreadsheet. It took a while, flipping back and forth between the website and the spreadsheet, making sure I didn’t mess up the numbers.
Keeping it Updated
Now, after every Vikings game, I just go back to my spreadsheet and add the latest stats. It’s become a little routine, and honestly, it’s kind of satisfying to see the whole season laid out like that. It is way easier to keep up with how Cook is doing than it was before.
