Okay, so I’ve been trying to get better at predicting NBA games. It’s tough, man! But I figured I’d try my hand at the Clippers-Blazers game and document the whole thing.

First, I looked up the team records. Gotta know where they stand, right? You know check out the wins, losses, and all that basic stuff.
Then I scrolled through some recent game results. I wanted to see how both teams have been playing lately. Are they on a hot streak? Are they struggling? Who have they been playing against?
Next, I tried to find injury reports. This is HUGE. If a star player is out, that changes everything! Seriously, it can totally flip the script.
- Checked official team websites…sometimes they update, sometimes they don’t.
- Looked at some sports news sites, they are usually pretty up-to-date.
After that, I dug into some head-to-head stats. How have these teams performed against each other in the past? Is there a clear pattern? Sometimes, one team just has another team’s number, you know?
I also tried to factor in home-court advantage. Some teams play way better at home. The crowd gets them hyped, and they just seem to have more energy.
My Gut Feeling (and Prediction)
Based on everything I looked at – the records, recent performance, injuries, and head-to-head matchups – I form my own prediction. It’s not always right, of course. If I could predict every game correctly, I’d be rich! But it’s fun to try and see if I can figure it out.
Predicting sports is hard! There are so many variables. But by doing this research and putting in the work,I feel like i have improved a lot from zero basic at predicting.
