Okay, so I’ve been seeing Conor McGregor rocking polo shirts a lot lately, and I gotta say, the man makes them look good. I wanted to see if I could pull off the same look, so I decided to do a little experiment.
The Search
First things first, I needed to find some polos. I didn’t want to just grab any old shirt, though. I wanted something that had that same fitted, athletic look that McGregor’s always sporting. So I did some digging, looked at a bunch of different brands, and paid close attention to the materials and the cut.
I ended up grabbing a couple of different options. I figure to try a few styles.
Trying Them On
This is where the real test began. I tried on each of the polos, one by one. Right away, I noticed a huge difference between a regular, boxy polo and the more fitted ones I’d picked out. Some looked a little… blah. Others were a bit too tight in the wrong places.
The Results
After trying everything on and messing around, the one I think that really captures the fitted, athletic look like McGregor’s polos, is the one made from a blend of cotton and some stretchy material. That bit of stretch makes all the difference! It hugs the body in the right way, without feeling constricting.
Styling It Out
Of course, a polo shirt is just a polo shirt unless you style it right. I paired mine with some slim-fit jeans and some clean, white sneakers. Simple, classic, and it definitely gave off that sharp, put-together vibe I was going for.
- The Fit: Go for something fitted, but not skin-tight. Look for shirts that taper at the waist.
- The Material: A cotton blend with a bit of stretch is your best friend.
- The Pairing: Keep it simple with slim-fit jeans or chinos and some clean sneakers.
Honestly, I was surprised at how much of a difference a well-fitting polo could make. It’s definitely a step up from a regular t-shirt, but it’s still casual enough for everyday wear. I’m definitely going to be adding a few more of these to my wardrobe.
