Okay, so I got curious about this whole “do UFC fighters wear cups” thing. It sounds kinda obvious, but I wanted to make sure, you know? So I did some digging.

My Little Investigation
First, I hit up the internet. You know, the usual – Googled it, checked some forums, that kind of stuff. I found a lot of people asking the same question, and most of the answers were pointing towards “yes, they do.” Apparently, it’s been a rule for a while.
I found out that groin shots, they were banned in the * makes sense. No one wants a low blow, right? And the cups? Those came in as the way to make sure those illegal hits didn’t, like, really do damage.
So, I kept reading. It’s not just during the actual fights, either. A lot of these guys, they’re wearing cups during training, too. Gotta protect the goods, even when you’re just sparring, I guess.
Putting it all Together
Basically, my little research project confirmed what I kinda thought all along. Yes, UFC fighters wear cups.
It’s a rule for the pro fights, keeps things a little safer, and it seems like most fighters are smart enough to wear them during practice, too. Makes perfect sense when you think about it!
