Okay, so I’ve been trying to get my golf swing looked at, specifically trying to imitate that James Scott Davidson technique. It’s been a journey, let me tell you!

First, I spent hours just watching videos of Davidson’s swing. I mean, over and over. Trying to really see what he does, how he moves, all that stuff.
Getting the Basics Down (Or Trying To!)
Next up, I hit the driving range. I felt kinda silly at first, but whatever. I started by just trying to copy his stance. You know, feet placement, the way he holds the club… all of it. It felt super awkward, to be honest.
- Feet: Getting the width right was tough.
- Grip: Felt like I was holding the club all wrong, even though I was trying to copy him.
- Posture: My back was killing me!
Then came the actual swing. Forget about it! I was slicing the ball all over the place, shanking some, topping others… it was a mess. I kept going back to the videos, trying to figure out what I was doing wrong.
Practice, Practice, Practice (and Frustration!)
I’ve been at it for a few weeks now. I’m starting to see some improvement. I’m hitting the ball a little straighter, a little farther. But it’s still not consistent. I have good days and bad days. Someday I feel like I’m finally getting it, the next day I’m back to square one.
Slow Progress, But Still Progress
Honestly, it’s been frustrating. It’s a lot harder than it looks! But I’m sticking with it. I booked a lesson with a local pro who knows about the Davidson technique, so hopefully, that will help.
I’m definitely not giving up. My goal is to at least get to the point where I’m not embarrassing myself on the course. We’ll see how it goes! I keep practicing and making records.
