Okay, so, the other day, I was scrolling through my phone, and I got to thinking about how to, like, actually find someone online. You know, not just random people, but someone specific. In this case, I was thinking about my son’s girlfriend – I’ve heard so much about her, but I haven’t really, you know, seen her much online.

So, I started simple. I mean, the most obvious thing, right?
The Basic Search
First, I just typed her name into the search bar. I used her first name, and also tried her first name and last name. Just to cover all my bases.
- Tried “FirstName”
- Tried “FirstName LastName”
This gave me a whole bunch of results, but honestly, most of them were just random people. It wasn’t very helpful.
Getting More Specific
Then, I thought, okay, I need to be smarter about this. I remembered my son mentioning she was into photography, and went to the local college. So I added those keywords to my search.
I started playing around with combinations of words, like:
- “FirstName LastName Photography”
- “FirstName LastName CollegeName”
- “FirstName LastName Photography CollegeName”
That narrowed things down a lot. I started seeing some profiles that looked promising. A few photography blogs, and accounts on the platforms with photos.
Deep Dive
I started to look for social media, and I checked out those photography blogs and the accounts on those photo platforms, looking for one that felt like it could be her. I looked at the photos, the style, trying to see if anything matched what my son had told * was a lot.
Putting It All Together
It was kind of like being a detective, piecing together little bits of information. I finally found an account that matched the name of the most possible blog, clicked on it, and yep, I’m pretty sure it’s her. It had a picture of her with my son. And the photography style was exactly what he’d described.

It took a bit of effort, and a lot of scrolling, but I felt like I’d cracked the code. It’s kind of amazing what you can find online when you really put your mind to it!
