Okay, so I’ve been messing around with Brawl Stars again lately, specifically diving into the map-making side of things. It’s way more fun, and frustrating, than I initially thought! Here’s how my little experiment went down.

First, I jumped into the game and found the map maker option. Honestly, it’s kinda buried in the menus. I clicked around for a bit before I actually located it. No shame in admitting that, right?
Getting Started (Finally!)
Once I was in, I was presented with a blank canvas. A totally empty field, just begging for some walls and obstacles. I decided to start with a Gem Grab map, because, well, why not? Those are always chaotic good fun.
- I started placing walls, trying to create some choke points and interesting pathways.
- Then I added some bushes, because every good Brawl Stars map needs some sneaky hiding spots.
- I even threw in some of those jump pads, just to spice things up. Who doesn’t love a good launch across the map?
- I put the mine in the middle.
The first few versions were…rough. Let’s just say they weren’t exactly balanced. One side would have a huge advantage, or it would be impossible to actually get to the gem mine. Lots of trial and error, lots of playing my own map and realizing, “Wow, this is terrible.”
Iteration, Iteration, Iteration
The key, I found, was to keep testing and keep tweaking. I’d play a few rounds, see what felt off, and then go back and adjust things. I moved walls, added more bushes, removed some jump pads… it was a constant process of refinement.
I even dragged my friends in to playtest. That’s where the real feedback came in. They’d point out things I hadn’t even noticed, like how one particular corner was a total death trap, or how one brawler was completely overpowered on my map.
The Final Product (Sort Of)
After a good few hours of messing around, I finally had something that felt…playable. It wasn’t perfect, by any means, but it was definitely fun. And that’s the whole point, right? It’s a game! Also now my friends and me could play in my custom map!
So, yeah, that’s my little Brawl Stars map-making adventure. It’s surprisingly addictive, and I definitely recommend giving it a shot if you’re into that sort of thing. Just be prepared to spend a lot of time making tiny adjustments and cursing at your own creations. But, it can make you get a totally different game experience!
