Okay, so I jumped into the wild world of League of Season 14, and let me tell you, the item changes are CRAZY. First thing I did? Booted up the game, obviously. I wanted to see everything firsthand, not just read about it.

I hopped into a practice tool game ’cause, you know, gotta get a feel for things without feeding my brains out. The shop interface? Totally different. It took me a good few minutes just to figure out where everything was. I spent like, five whole minutes just browsing, clicking on stuff, reading descriptions. It was overwhelming, honestly.
Then, I started experimenting. I grabbed a few of the new items on my main, , just to see how they felt. The damage numbers were definitely different, and the build paths I was used to? Forget about them. Some of those items felt amazing power, while some was not as much as expect.
My First Real Game
- Queue up: Jumped into a normal draft game, fingers crossed I wouldn’t get flamed for being clueless.
- Pick phase: Locked in my comfort pick. I figured, stick with what I know, then adapt to the items.
- Early game:Played it safe, farmed up, tried to get a feel for the new item spikes on my opponent. Noticed some weird builds, that’s for sure.
- Mid game: Started experimenting with my build. Tried a few different combinations, some worked, some…didn’t. Definitely got blown up a couple of times because of it.
- Late game: By this point, I had a decent handle on the items that felt good. Started to actually carry, which was a relief.
After that first game, I played a bunch more. Tried different champions, different roles, just to see how the items affected everyone. Supports felt pretty different. Mages had some crazy new options. Even tanks felt like they had more choices.
My biggest takeaway? Don’t be afraid to experiment. Read the item descriptions carefully, try stuff out, and don’t get stuck in your old ways. The meta is completely shaken up, and it’s actually kinda fun figuring it all out.
It’s gonna take a while to really master all this, but that’s part of the fun, right? Good luck out there, and may your item builds be blessed!
