Okay, so today I was trying to solve this crossword, and there was this clue, “knocks over,” that totally stumped me. I stared at it for like, ten minutes, tried a bunch of random words, nothing seemed to fit.
So, first thing I did, like always, was to count the letters in my empty blocks of this clue, It has 6 letters. Then I grabbed a pen and paper – yeah, I’m old school like that – and started brainstorming. Anything that came to mind related to “knocks over,” I jotted it down. “Tips,” “spills,” “falls”… you get the idea. None of them were six letters, though.
Feeling a bit stuck, I thought, maybe it’s not a literal knocking over. Maybe it’s something that causes surprise or shock? Like, “blows away” or something. I was really reaching at this point.
Searching Online
Then, I decided to look up the Internet. It turns out that “knocks over” has a few potential answers. I found the word “UPSETS”. Bingo!
I plugged “UPSETS” into the crossword, and bam! It fit perfectly. And it makes sense, right? Like, upsetting a glass of water, or upsetting plans… it works!
I also found other answers online, maybe next time I will use those to fill in this clue. The answers I found are below:
