Today, I wanted to figure out how to write 0.167 as a percent. It’s something that comes up sometimes, and I always feel a little silly when I can’t remember how to do it. So, I decided to finally get it straight.
Getting Started
First, I grabbed my notebook and pen. I like writing things down because it helps me remember them better. I jotted down “0.167” at the top of the page, just to have it in front of me.
The Simple Trick
Then I remembered the trick, it’s all about moving that decimal point. I have to move the decimal point two places to the right.
- I started with 0.167
- I moved the decimal one spot: 1.67
- Then I moved it again: 16.7
Putting it Together
After moving, I simply add a percent sign (%) and I knew I was done.
The final result of 0.167 as a percent is 16.7%!
I wrote down the final answer, 16.7%, in my notebook. I made sure to put a big circle around it so I can find it easily next time. It all clicked into place! Now I know I can handle this type of conversion in the future, no sweat.
