Okay, so I’ve been meaning to dive into this “WITB Paul Casey” thing for a while now. WITB, for those not in the know, means “What’s in the Bag” – basically, a look at the clubs a pro golfer is using. I’m no pro, far from it, but I like to see what the big guys are swinging, maybe pick up a tip or two.

So, I started by, you know, Googling it. “WITB Paul Casey”. Simple enough, right? Loads of stuff came up, articles, forum posts, even some videos. I figured I’d start with the most recent stuff I could find, ’cause equipment changes all the time.
First, I went through a couple of articles from some golf websites. I just skimmed them, really, looking for the key details. Driver, woods, irons, wedges, putter – that’s the basic breakdown. I made a quick list, just jotting down the brands and models. I have to read carefully, looking for updated content.
Next, I checked out some forums. This is where it gets interesting, ’cause you get real people talking, not just marketing hype. There were some discussions, a few debates about whether Casey’s choice of, say, driver shaft was really the best for him. Some of it was way over my head, to be honest, but I tried to follow along.
My Rough Notes
- Driver: Something, something…high launch, low spin. Need to double-check that.
- Fairway Woods: Apparently he’s got a couple, different lofts. Makes sense.
- Irons: Blades, obviously. He’s a pro. I can only dream of hitting blades that consistently.
- Wedges: Standard stuff, probably. Gap, sand, lob.
- Putter: This is where it gets personal, I think. Lots of different styles out there.
I also watched a couple of short videos. It’s cool to actually see the clubs, you know? Get a sense of the size, the shape. Plus, sometimes you can catch a glimpse of how he sets up to the ball, which is always helpful.
It wasn’t exactly rocket science, this whole process. Just gathering info, piecing it together. The hardest part was probably filtering out the old stuff and making sure I was looking at his current setup. I have to get some updated information and get rid of my own outdated knowledges.
After gathering and confirming, I started practicing using the setting, and finally get the setting and clubs just fit me best!
Overall, it was a fun little project. I learned a bit, and maybe, just maybe, it’ll help me shave a stroke or two off my game. Probably not, but hey, a guy can dream, right?
