Alright, so I’ve been messing around with fantasy football for a while now, and this year, I was determined to come up with a killer team name. I mean, who doesn’t want a name that’s both clever and intimidating, right? Since I drafted Saquon Barkley (fingers crossed he stays healthy!), I figured I’d build my team name around him. Here’s the journey of how I brainstormed some Saquon-inspired fantasy football names.
First, I just started free-associating. You know, just throwing out words and phrases related to Saquon, the Giants, football in general, and anything else that popped into my head. It was messy, but it’s a good way to get the ball rolling. I wrote it all out on a piece of paper:
- Barkley’s Quads
- Saquads
- Giants
- Touchdowns
- Running Back
- Big Blue
- New York
Then, I started combining some of these words to see if anything sounded cool. I wanted something that was a little punny, a little bit tough, and, most importantly, available in my league (that’s always a struggle!). Some of the first ones I tried were immediately taken:
- “Saquon’s Quad Squad”
- “Barkley’s Believe It or Not”.
These were ok but not original.
After that I began to look online for popular names
I found the following ones that I thought were decent.
- Saquontum Leap
- Run CMC (not really a Saquon one, but it’s funny)
- Saquon for the Team
Next, I tried mashing up words. I tried to put “Saquon” and other words together.
- Saquontroversial
- Saquonfidence
Those ones sound a bit clumsy.
Finally, I think I have landed on a few contenders:
- “The Saquon Dynasty” (sounds epic, right?)
- “Saving Private Saquon” (a little movie reference there).
- “All Barkley, No Bite”, I will probably save this one incase Saquon has a bad season.
I am still workshopping it, might change before the season starts, but those are some I have so far.
