Okay, so I finally decided to give Lulu a proper try in Wild Rift. I’d messed around with her a bit before, but never really committed. Today, that changed.

Getting Started
First, I jumped into a couple of practice matches against bots. Just to get a feel for her abilities again, you know? I wanted to refresh my memory on her skillshots and how to best utilize her Pix, that little fairy companion.
I spent a good 20 minutes just practicing hitting her Glitterlance (Q) and making sure I understood how Pix’s positioning affected the angle. It’s kinda tricky, but super satisfying when you land those long-range snipes.
Jumping into PvP
After I felt somewhat comfortable, I queued up for a normal PvP match. I figured, “Let’s do this!” I locked in Lulu, and thankfully, no one else on my team seemed to mind.
The laning phase was… interesting. I was up against a pretty aggressive Draven and Leona combo. I admit it, i feeded a bit, but it’s a learning curve. I quickly learned to play a bit safer, focusing on shielding my ADC and poking with Glitterlance when I could. Her Whimsy (W) was a lifesaver, turning that scary Draven into a harmless squirrel more than a few times.
Team Fights and Turning the Tide
Mid-game was where things got really fun. I started to roam a bit, helping out other lanes with surprise ganks. Lulu’s speed boost from Whimsy is seriously no joke. We managed to secure a few key objectives, thanks to some well-timed shields and polymorphs.
Team fights were chaotic, but I felt like I was actually contributing. I focused on keeping our carries alive with my shields and Help, Pix! (E), while also trying to disrupt the enemy with Whimsy and well-placed Glitterlances. Her ultimate, Wild Growth (R), is amazing for turning around a fight or saving a teammate from certain death. I can’t count how many times I used it to knock up enemies and give our team the advantage.
Victory! (and some lessons learned)
We ended up winning the match! It wasn’t a stomp, by any means, but it felt good. I definitely learned a lot about playing Lulu effectively.
- Positioning is key. You need to be aware of where Pix is and how to angle your Glitterlance.
- Shields are your best friend. Don’t be afraid to use them liberally to protect your teammates.
- Whimsy is incredibly versatile. Use it offensively to shut down divers or defensively to peel for your carries.
- Wild Growth can change the game. Save it for those crucial moments when you need to turn the tide of a fight.
Overall, it was a successful day of Lulu-ing. I’m definitely going to be playing her more often. She’s a lot of fun, and I feel like I’m only scratching the surface of her potential.
