Okay, so I wanted to mess around with training an AI voice model, and I saw this “Silver Haired Echo” thing pop up a few times. I figured, why not give it a shot? This is my second attempt, so I kinda knew what I was doing… kinda.

Getting Started
First, I needed the data. Last time I just grabbed a bunch of random audio files, but this time I was a little more organized. I found some clean voice recordings of this character – I think it was from some game or anime, I don’t even know. The important thing was that the audio was clear, with no background music or explosions.
Cleaning Up the Mess
Even with the “clean” audio, I still had to do some work. I used this free audio editor – Audacity, I think it’s called – to chop up the audio into smaller chunks. I listened through each bit, making sure there were no weird noises or anything. This part took FOREVER. Seriously, it felt like I was listening to the same voice lines for days.
The Training Begins (Again)
I used Google Colab. It’s free which is very important for me.
- I uploaded my nicely chopped audio files.
- I messed with some settings – honestly, I just copied what some guy on YouTube did.
- I hit the “train” button and… waited.
This time, I let it run for longer than my first attempt. I think I let it go for like, 5 hours? I just left my computer on and went to do other stuff. It’s not like I could watch it train anyway.
The Results (Take Two!)
After all that waiting, I finally had a model! I downloaded it and plugged it into the voice changer thingy. And… it was actually pretty good! Way better than my first try, at least. It still sounded a little robotic sometimes, but you could definitely tell it was supposed to be the character.
I played around with some text-to-speech, making the AI say some silly stuff. It was hilarious. My friends thought it was pretty cool too, so that’s a win in my book.
So yeah, that’s my “Silver Haired Echo Trainer 2” adventure. It was a lot of clicking, waiting, and hoping for the best, but it actually worked out pretty well. Might try training another voice later, who knows?
