Okay, so I’ve been hyped about this new League of Legends champion, Hwei, for a while now. Like, seriously, a mage with ten abilities? Count me in! So, naturally, I’ve been keeping a close eye out for his release date. Let me tell you, the process was a bit of journey.
First, I started by just, you know, Googling “Hwei release date”. I mean, that’s the obvious first step, right? I found a bunch of articles and forum posts, some saying one thing, some saying another. It was kinda confusing, to be honest.
Digging Deeper
So, I decided I needed to be a bit more strategic. I went straight to the source – the official League of Legends website and social media. I figured they’d be the most reliable.
- I scrolled through their news feed, looking for any announcements.
- I checked their Twitter (or X, or whatever it is now) and Facebook pages.
- I even looked for developer updates or sneak peeks.
I found some teasers and hints, but nothing concrete. It was all very mysterious! It’s like they wanted us to be on the edge of our seats.
The PBE (Public Beta Environment)
Then, I remembered about the PBE! For those who don’t know, it’s like a test server where they roll out new stuff before it goes live. So I jumped on the PBE client (had to update it first, of course) and… there he was! Hwei, in all his glorious, ten-ability glory.
Playing him on the PBE gave me a pretty good idea of when he’d hit the live servers. Usually, new champions spend about two weeks on the PBE before they’re officially released. Some websites that provide this information told me that he went to pbe on November 20, 2023
The Big Reveal!
Finally, Riot Games,the company behinde the LOL, made the official announcement! They posted it on their website, their social media, everywhere. Hwei’s release date was scheduled for Patch 13.24, which means he would be launched on December 6, 2023. And let me tell you, I was ready!
