Okay, so I’ve been wanting to make some fun trivia for my friends, and since we all grew up with Mario games, I thought, “Why not make it Mario-themed?” So I started this little project, and let me tell you, it was a trip down memory lane!

Getting Started
First, I needed questions. Lots of them. I started by brainstorming all the Mario games I could remember, from the original Super Mario Bros. on the NES all the way to the newer ones on the Switch. I played some of them for a little while for inspiration.
Digging for Trivia Gold
Then came the research phase. I spent hours browsing through Mario fan wikis, old game manuals (yeah, I still have some!), and even watching some “Did You Know Gaming?” videos on YouTube. I was looking for those obscure facts and little details that would make for good trivia questions.
I wanted a good mix. some easy questions any casual fan would know, and some real head-scratchers that even I had to look up!
Organizing the Chaos
I jotted down everything in a simple text file, I was ending with a huge, messy list of questions and answers.
Then I started organizing.I divided the questions into categories like “Characters,” “Games,” “Enemies,” and “Power-Ups”.And I categorized the questions by difficulty level.
Putting It All Together
- What is Mario’s full name? (Mario Mario)
- In what game did Mario first appear? (Donkey Kong)
- What is the name of Mario’s dinosaur friend? (Yoshi)
- What is the name of Bowser’s son? (Bowser Jr.)
- What power-up allows Mario to shoot fireballs? (Fire Flower)
I finally had a solid set of Mario trivia questions and answers! I was adding more questions and I’m excited to keep expanding it, maybe even turn it into a little quiz game someday. It’s been a fun project, and it’s definitely made me appreciate the history of Mario even more.
