Okay, so today I was trying to decide between D’Andre Swift and Raheem Mostert for my fantasy football flex spot. It’s a tough one, right? Both guys have been pretty solid, but in different ways.

First, I looked back at their stats from the past few weeks. I opened up my fantasy app and started scrolling through their game logs. Swift has been getting a ton of touches, especially in the passing game. That’s huge in PPR leagues, like the one I’m in.
- Lots of targets for Swift.
- Consistently getting double-digit points.
Then I checked out Mostert’s stats. This guy has been a touchdown machine! Seriously, he’s finding the end zone almost every game. But, his yardage hasn’t been as high as Swift’s, and he doesn’t catch as many passes.
- Touchdowns galore for Mostert!
- Lower yardage and fewer receptions.
Digging Deeper
Next, I started thinking about the matchups. I pulled up the defensive rankings for the teams they’re playing against. I opened up my other app to see the defenses they are both up against.
Swift’s opponent is decent against running backs, not great, but not terrible either. Mostert’s opponent, though… they’re tough. Like, really tough. I started to get an uneasy feeling, a bit nervous about going for Mostert this week.
So, I started looking for some expert opinions. I read a couple of articles, and listened to a fantasy football podcast while I was doing some chores. The “experts” were pretty split. Some liked Swift’s consistent workload, others were all in on Mostert’s touchdown potential. It wasn’t helping me that much.
Finally, I just went with my gut. I kept thinking about Mostert’s tough matchup, and how Swift has been so reliable lately. It felt safer. Plus, I really need those receptions points!
I swapped Swift into my flex spot, and moved Mostert to my bench. It felt like a weight off my shoulders, honestly. Now I can just sit back and (hopefully) watch Swift rack up those points!
