Alright, folks, let’s dive into something I’ve been messing around with in Overwatch 2 – figuring out how to not get totally wrecked by Ramattra. He’s a beast, no doubt, but he’s not invincible. I spent a good chunk of my weekend playing, trying different heroes and strategies, and I’ve got some notes to share.

First Attempts – Total Failures
First, I went in blind, like I usually do. I picked my comfort heroes, mostly DPS, thinking I could just out-damage him. Big mistake. His Nemesis form just punched right through my squishy heroes. I tried Soldier: 76, thought I could keep my distance and wear him down. Nope. He closed the gap too fast, and those punches? Ouch.
Then, I switched to Reaper, figuring I could get in close, do some burst damage, and Wraith Form out. Slightly better, but still not great. He’d just pop his block, soak up my damage, and then crush me. It was frustrating, to say the least.
Tank Time – Some Progress
So, after getting demolished as DPS, I thought, “Okay, let’s try a tank.” I went with Orisa, thinking her Fortify and Javelin Spin could handle his punches. It was better, definitely. I could survive longer, but I still wasn’t really winning the fight. He’d just wait out my abilities and then pummel me. I realized I needed to disrupt him more, not just survive.
Next, I hopped on Sigma. This felt much better. I could use my Kinetic Grasp to eat his punches, and the Accretion (the rock throw) was key. Hitting him with that while he was in Nemesis form was huge. It canceled his punches and gave me a window to either attack or reposition. This was the first time I felt like I had a fighting chance.
Support Struggles and Successes
Support was a mixed bag. Ana was surprisingly effective, IF I could land my shots. Sleeping him during Nemesis form was a game-changer, but it’s a tough skill shot. If I missed, I was usually dead. Biotic Grenade was also good for denying his healing, especially when he’s getting pocketed by a Mercy or something.
I tried Lucio, thinking I could speed boost my team away from him. It kind of worked, but it wasn’t reliable. He’s just too persistent. Plus, if he caught me, I was toast.
Zenyatta, though? Surprisingly good. Discord Orb made a HUGE difference. Even if I couldn’t kill him myself, my team could melt him much faster with that debuff. Plus, I could stay at a relatively safe distance and still contribute.
Key Takeaways – What I Learned
So, after all that experimenting, here’s what I’ve boiled it down to:

- Disruption is King: Heroes that can interrupt his Nemesis form are your best bet. Think Sigma’s rock, Ana’s sleep dart, even a well-timed Junkrat trap.
- Don’t Bunch Up: His punches go through multiple targets. Spread out, so he can’t cleave your whole team down.
- Focus Fire (with Discord!): If you have a Zenyatta, get that Discord Orb on him. He melts way faster.
- Don’t Panic: When he goes into Nemesis form, it’s tempting to scatter. But if you can coordinate, focus him down, or disrupt him, you can shut him down.
- kite and keep Distance:Using high mobility to draw him along, keeping at a distance where you can still do damage safely.
It’s still a work in progress, and I’m sure there are other strategies out there. But this is what I’ve found from my own playtime. Hopefully, it helps you avoid getting completely stomped by the robot monk! Good luck out there!
