Okay, so I was trying to figure out where to crash during the US Open at Pinehurst. Man, it was a bit of a headache at first! I started by just, you know, Googling around – “hotels near Pinehurst,” “US Open lodging,” that kind of stuff.

Checking Out the Obvious Spots
First, I checked out the official Pinehurst Resort. No surprise, it’s beautiful, but, wow, the prices were insane during the tournament! Like, seriously inflated. I guess that’s to be expected, but it was way out of my budget.
Broadening My Search
So, I started looking at towns nearby. Southern Pines and Aberdeen seemed like the closest options. I spent a good chunk of time looking at various hotel booking websites.
- I looked at the usual suspects, you know, the big chain hotels.
- I filtered by distance to Pinehurst.
- I compared prices like a hawk!
It was a lot of back and forth, checking reviews, and trying to find something that wasn’t totally outrageous price-wise, but also didn’t look like a total dive.
Digging Deeper
I even checked some vacation rental sites. Sometimes you can find a gem – a little condo or house that’s cheaper than a hotel, especially if you’re traveling with a group. I did find a few options, but they were getting booked up pretty fast. I guess everyone had the same idea!
I also tried some forums and groups,It always pays to be thorough, right?
Finally Found the Right Place
After a lot of searching and comparing, I finally found a decent hotel in Southern Pines. It wasn’t super fancy, but it had good reviews, a reasonable price (for US Open week, anyway!), and it was only a short drive to the course. I booked it right away before someone else snatched it up!
So yeah, that’s how I went about finding a place to stay for the US Open at Pinehurst. It took some effort, but I managed to find something that worked for me.
