Okay, so I’ve been seeing these vine spine tattoos all over my Pinterest and I just had to try it out myself. I’m no tattoo artist, obviously, but I’m pretty crafty, so I figured, why not give it a shot with some temporary stuff first?

Getting Started
First things first, I needed a design. I spent a good hour just scrolling through images, finding inspiration. I wanted something delicate, but with a little bit of a wild, untamed feel. I ended up sketching a few different options on paper, playing around with different leaf shapes and how the vine would twist and turn.
- Gathering Supplies:
- Temporary tattoo paper (the kind you print on!)
- My sketches
- Scissors
- A damp cloth
- My printer
Bringing the Design to Life
Once I had a design I liked, I scanned it into my computer and cleaned it up a bit. I had to make sure the lines were dark enough to print clearly on the tattoo paper. That took a bit of fiddling, but I got there!
Printing it out was the scary part! I double, triple-checked that I had the tattoo paper loaded correctly – I definitely didn’t want to waste a sheet. Then, I hit print and held my breath.
The Application Process
Okay, so applying it was… interesting. I cut out the design as closely as possible, peeled off the clear backing (the sticky part!), and carefully positioned it on my lower back. It’s kind of hard to see what you’re doing back there! I enlisted my roommate to help me press it down with a damp cloth. We held it there for a good minute, making sure it was really stuck.
Peeling off the paper backing was the moment of truth. And… it worked! Mostly. There were a couple of tiny spots where it didn’t transfer perfectly, but overall, I was pretty * will be my little secert.
Final Touches and Thoughts
I used a little bit of baby powder to set it and take away some of the * I think it’s really a good try. It looks pretty awesome! It’s definitely given me the itch to maybe, maybe, consider a real one someday. But for now, I’m loving this temporary version. It’s a fun way to experiment with body art without the *, I’m pretty proud of myself for pulling it off!
