Okay, so I’ve been seeing this “Molly Beers” thing all over my TikTok feed, and I was like, “What the heck is that?” It looked pretty simple, so I figured I’d give it a shot myself. I mean, who doesn’t love a good, refreshing drink, especially when it’s hot outside?
Getting My Stuff Together
First things first, I needed to make sure I had everything. It’s not a super complicated recipe, from what I could tell, so the shopping list was pretty short. I made sure I had:
- Beer: I just grabbed a six-pack of my usual, nothing fancy. I think it was some kind of lager.
- Limes: Gotta have those fresh limes! I picked up, like, four, just to be safe.
- Salt: I already had salt at home, obviously. Table salt works fine.
- Tajin (optional): Some folks said they use it.
Mixing It Up
Alright, time to get down to business. I grabbed a big glass, like a pint glass, because I wanted a good-sized drink. First step, according to the internet, was to wet the rim of the glass. I just ran a lime wedge around the top.
Next, I poured some salt onto a small plate and dipped the wet rim of the glass into the salt. I made sure to get a good, even coating all the way around. (Some people use Tajin here. But I use normal salt)
Then, I squeezed the juice of, like, one whole lime into the glass. I probably could’ve used a little less, but I like things tart. I fished out the seeds with a spoon because nobody wants to crunch on those.
Now for the main event – the beer! I slowly poured the beer into the glass, trying not to make it foam up too much. I left a little bit of space at the top, just in case.
The Taste Test
And that’s it! I gave it a little stir with a straw and took a sip. Honestly, it was pretty good! The lime and salt really add a nice kick to the beer, and it’s super refreshing. It’s kinda like a super simple, beer-y margarita.
I can definitely see myself making these again, especially on a hot day or for a casual get-together. It’s easy, it’s cheap, and it tastes way fancier than it actually is. Win-win-win!
