Okay, so I wanted to see what all the fuss was about with this UFL, the United Football League. And, you know, I’m always interested in seeing women breaking into traditionally male-dominated spaces. So, I decided to dive in and find out about the female referees in the UFL.

First, I Googled “UFL female referee.” I figured that would be the quickest way to get some basic info. I got a bunch of articles and stuff, but nothing super concrete right away. It took some digging.
Digging Deeper
I started clicking on different articles. Most were about the merger of the XFL and USFL, which is how the UFL came to be. Lots of business stuff, not much about the refs specifically.
- I read a few general articles about the UFL.
- I skimmed some press releases about the league’s launch.
- I checked the UFL’s official website, but it wasn’t super helpful at first.
Then, I found a few articles mentioning specific names, but the articles only mentioned the referees briefly. I noticed the names and then did another search for those specific names with “UFL”.
I found a few social media profiles, but it was hard to verify if they were actually the people I was looking for. This whole thing felt way harder than it should have been!
Success (Sort Of)
Finally, I stumbled upon articles that mentioned that women had officiated in the XFL and USFL before, so, obviously, some were rolled into the UFL. I was able to confirm some names.
It wasn’t like a big, clear list or anything. But, I can say I did see for myself that they exist. It took longer that I wanted, but that’s what I did.
