Okay, so I saw this “Monopoly Gingerbread Galore” thing online and thought, “That sounds like a disaster waiting to happen… or a masterpiece!” I’m leaning towards disaster, but hey, let’s give it a shot.

Getting Started (and Already Confused)
First, I grabbed a regular Monopoly board. I mean, who doesn’t have one of these lying around? Then, the gingerbread part. I bought a pre-made gingerbread house kit because, let’s be real, I’m not a master baker. I considered making the dough from scratch, but then I remembered my last attempt at baking cookies… it was not pretty.
Building the… “Properties”?
This is where things got interesting. I started building the little gingerbread houses from the kit. They’re supposed to be, like, the houses and hotels you put on the Monopoly board. The icing that came with the kit? Forget it. That stuff is impossible to work with. It’s either rock hard or a runny mess. I ended up using some super glue I had. Don’t judge, it worked!
- Asseble the gingerbread house.
- Making a mess, naturally.
- Somehow managed to not eat all the candy decorations yet.
Gingerbread Boardwalk?
The big challenge? The “properties” themselves. I initially thought I’d make little gingerbread squares for each property, but that seemed, uh, ambitious. So, I cut up some cardboard and used markers to color them like the Monopoly properties. I stuck those to the gingerbread houses. It kinda, sorta looked like the real thing… if you squint.
Candy Tokens!
For the game pieces, I just raided my candy stash. Gummy bears, those little chocolate coins, some hard candies – anything goes! I think the gummy bear is going to be my lucky piece.
Playing the Game (Sort Of)
We actually tried to play a game. It was… chaotic. The gingerbread houses kept falling over. The cardboard properties got sticky. Someone (not naming names) tried to eat the Park Place house. But, we laughed. A lot.
So, final verdict? “Monopoly Gingerbread Galore” is more “galore” than “Monopoly.” It’s a fun, messy, slightly ridiculous activity. Would I recommend it? Absolutely. Just don’t expect a serious game of Monopoly, and maybe keep some extra super glue handy. It’s all be a part of fun, and the important thing is to enjoy the process and the company!
