Okay, folks, let’s dive into something I’ve been messing around with – figuring out who in the NBA can jump out of the gym. I mean, we’ve all seen those crazy dunks, but who actually gets the highest?

My Little Experiment
First, I just started watching games. Like, a lot of games. I figured I’d just eyeball it and see who looked like they were floating.
Then I quickly realised just eye balling wasn’t that great of plan.
So, I started digging. I mean, this is the internet, right? Someone had to have some data on this. I looked at some articles and forums, and things became intresting.
Gathering Some intel
- Started with the usual suspects: I figured I’d start with the big names, the guys known for their hops.
- Looked for official numbers: I tried to find official NBA combine data, thinking that would be the most reliable.
- Compared and contrasted: Once I had some names and numbers, I started comparing. This is where it got tricky, because different sources sometimes had different info.
What I did to make sure
Now, I am not a scientist,I’m just a guy with a laptop. So, I tried to be, you know, somewhat organized. Like:
- I focused on “max vertical” numbers: This seemed like the best way to compare pure jumping ability.
- Used multiple sources: I didn’t just trust one website. I wanted to see if different places were saying the same thing.
The result of my own reserach
After all this digging and watching and comparing, I realised that the players who has the hightest vertical jump is someone that can consistently surprise others.
It’s been a fun little project! Remember, I’m just a dude who likes basketball and looking stuff up on the internet. Don’t take my word as gospel, do your own digging!
