Okay, so I got really into golf lately, and I’ve been trying to up my game. Naturally, I started looking at what the pros use, you know, for “inspiration.” Patrick Cantlay is one of my favorite players, so I decided to do a deep dive into his bag – a “What’s in the Bag” or WITB, as the cool kids call it.

My Deep Dive into Cantlay’s Gear
First, I scoured the internet for any info I could find on Cantlay’s setup. I checked out golf forums, equipment review sites, and even some YouTube videos of his rounds. It was kinda like detective work, piecing together bits of information from different sources.
It wasn’t easy! Sometimes the info was outdated, or I’d find conflicting reports. But I persisted, and slowly but surely, I started to get a clearer picture of what he’s playing with.
Compiling My Findings
I started a simple document to keep track of everything. I listed out each club type – driver, woods, irons, wedges, putter – and then jotted down the specific model and specs Cantlay uses, as best as I could determine.
Here’s what I’ve got so far, It is all I can find and put together:
- Driver: Titleist something… I think it’s a TS3, but I’m not 100% sure. Definitely need to confirm the loft.
- Fairway Woods: I’m pretty sure he’s got a Titleist 915F 3-wood. Saw that mentioned in a few places.
- Irons: This is where it gets interesting. He’s a Titleist AP2 guy, but the exact set makeup seems to vary. I need to dig deeper on that.
- Wedges: Titleist Vokey SM7 and SM8, I believe. Gotta confirm the lofts and grinds.
- Putter: Scotty Cameron,of course. But it is hard to tell which specific model.
My Next Step
I realized I still had some gaps in my knowledge.
So my plan, continue to get more information!
I’m not gonna lie, it’s been a bit of a rabbit hole, but a fun one! I’m not saying I’m going to go out and buy all the same clubs (my wallet would cry), but it’s fascinating to see what works for one of the best players in the world. And hey, maybe I’ll pick up a few tips along the way that can help my own game.
