Okay, so I’ve been seeing a lot of buzz about Paul Casey’s WITB (What’s In The Bag) lately, and I figured I’d finally dig in and see what all the fuss was about. I’m a bit of a gear head myself, always tinkering with my own setup, so this was right up my alley.

First, I started by just Googling “Paul Casey WITB.” I mean, that’s where everyone starts, right? I landed on a few different golf websites, and some forums, that’s where all the really details.
Then I opened a simple text editor. I like to keep it, no fancy formatting, just the raw info.
I started copying and pasting the specs from various sources. It was a bit of a jigsaw puzzle at first. One site would have his driver, another would have his irons, and so on. My text file started looking like a Frankenstein’s monster of golf clubs.
Once I had all the pieces in one place, I began to organize it. I created separate sections for each type of club:
- Driver
- Fairway Woods
- Irons
- Wedges
- Putter
- Ball
It also lists some alternatives, which make me feel really good.
Next, I added the details, things about the lofts, shafts, and grips. Also wrote some little notes, it’s very useful.
Finally, I just kind of stared at it all. It’s actually pretty cool to see it all laid out like that. I realized how much thought and personal preference goes into a pro’s bag.
I’m not gonna lie, this whole process made me want to go out and hit some balls. And maybe, just maybe, I’ll “accidentally” leave my notes open on my computer where my wife can see them. You know, just in case she’s feeling generous.
