Alright, so I caught some WWE stuff lately. Saw CM Punk doing his thing, and Finn Bálor over there with his crew. And it kinda clicked, something I’d been chewing on.

These two guys, man. Completely different animals. Punk just runs his mouth, right? Always has. Gets people riled up, gets attention. Doesn’t seem to care who he ticks off. Just straight up says his piece. Reminds me of this one dude I used to work with, absolute nightmare sometimes, but if something was truly messed up, he’d be the first one yelling about it until it got fixed. No filter.
Finn, though, he’s different. Especially these days with the Judgment Day thing. It’s less talk, more… presence? The group thing, the look, the quiet intensity. He does his job in the ring, looks cool doing it. Feels more like he lets the actions, or the group’s actions, do the talking. Not so much shouting from the rooftops.
And I was thinking, that’s like my current gig. We got people like both of them.
- There’s the ‘Punk’ type. Always loud in meetings, calling out issues. Annoying? Yeah, sometimes. But things don’t get swept under the rug when they’re around.
- Then there’s the ‘Bálor’ type. Head down, focused, works well with their small team. Delivers solid work, no drama. Doesn’t cause a fuss, just gets it done clean.
I used to think one way was better. You know, the loud guy gets things done, or the quiet guy is more professional.
My Realization, I Guess
But watching these wrestlers, these characters… it’s just different tools for different jobs, isn’t it? Sometimes you need that loud, abrasive energy to break through nonsense. Other times, you need that focused, quiet delivery that just works. Neither one is always right or always wrong. It depends on the situation. Made me look at my own way of dealing with things. Am I just being loud? Or am I being quiet when I should speak up? Seeing Punk and Bálor kinda put that work dynamic into a picture I could understand better. Weird how you find these things in wrestling, of all places.
