Alright, so you wanna get your favorite characters hanging out in your Serenitea Pot, right? Took me a bit to figure it all out smoothly, but it’s actually pretty straightforward once you do it. Let me walk you through how I got my own crew set up.

First thing, obviously, you gotta have the characters unlocked. You can’t place someone you haven’t pulled, naturally. And you need your teapot unlocked, gone through that whole questline with Madame Ping.
Okay, so I warped into my teapot. You know, open the map, select the teapot icon, boom, you’re in. Once I loaded in, I looked for the hand icon at the top right of the screen. That’s your placement menu button. I gave that a tap.
This brings up the whole building interface. Now, there are a few tabs here for different kinds of furnishings – mountains, buildings, animals, all that jazz. What I was looking for was the ‘Companion’ tab. It usually has a little person icon or something similar. Found it, clicked on it.
Placing Your Friends
Inside that tab, I saw all the characters I owned. Nice! So, I picked who I wanted to place first. Let’s say I grabbed Lisa. Clicking her portrait brings up her model in the placement view.
Then it’s just like placing any other furniture. I moved her around using the controls, found a good spot – maybe near a cozy chair or by the main house. You gotta watch the load limit, though. See that little circle indicator, usually top right? Characters take up a chunk of load, so you can’t just cram everyone in one area if it’s already full of other stuff. I had to sometimes remove a few rocks or plants to make space.
Once I found the perfect spot, I hit the confirm button, usually a checkmark or something similar. Bam! Lisa’s now chilling in my teapot realm.
Important thing I learned: There’s a maximum number of companions you can place in the whole teapot, not just per area. I think it’s like 8 or something? So, you gotta choose your favorites!

I repeated this process for a few more characters I wanted in that specific area. Then I switched areas (like going from the exterior to inside the mansion, or to a different island layout if you have those unlocked) and placed more companions there using the same steps: open placement menu, go to companion tab, select, position, confirm.
Why Bother?

Well, first off, it just makes the place feel more alive! Seeing your characters wandering around is cool.

Big one: They gain Companionship EXP just by being placed in the pot. It adds up over time, helping you get those namecards faster. I check back daily to claim it from Tubby.

You can talk to them! They have unique teapot dialogues. Sometimes they even give you gifts if you’ve placed their favorite furniture sets nearby. I spent some time crafting those specific sets just for this.
So yeah, that’s basically it. Get in the pot, open the build menu, hit the companion tab, pick your pal, find a spot, and place ’em down. Just watch that load limit and the total companion cap. Now my teapot feels way more like a home base with everyone hanging out. Pretty neat feature, honestly.
