Alright, so I heard people talking about these new “Mirrorwatch” skins. Sounded kinda interesting, this whole good-guys-gone-bad idea, you know? So, booted up the game the other day, wanted to see them for myself.

First thing, gotta navigate through all the menus. They always change things around just enough so you gotta relearn where stuff is. Finally got to the hero gallery section.
Checking Them Out
So I started clicking through the heroes. Okay, some of them looked pretty neat. They definitely went for that “opposite” theme. Saw the Mercy one, looked kinda wicked. Then there was the Reinhardt one, looking all edgy.
- Clicked on one hero, spun the model around.
- Clicked on another, did the same thing.
- Some looked like they put real effort in.
- Others… well, felt a bit like a quick paint job, maybe a few extra bits stuck on.
It’s funny, you see these new shiny things, and for a second you think, “Yeah, gotta have that.” But then you remember it’s just pixels, doesn’t actually make you play any better.
Getting Them – The Usual Deal
Naturally, I checked how you actually get these things. No big surprise there. It was the same old song and dance.
Option 1: Grind. Play a bunch of matches, do specific challenges. You know, jump through hoops. Takes time, lots of it. Sometimes the challenges are fun, sometimes they just feel like chores you gotta do.
Option 2: Real money. Just buy the coins or the bundles directly. Quick and easy if you got the cash to spare, I guess. Seems like everything pushes you towards this way more and more these days.
I scrolled through the shop. Saw the bundles. Looked at the prices. Thought about it for a minute. Then I just kinda shrugged.
My Takeaway
Look, some of the designs are cool. Credit where it’s due for the concept. But at the end of the day, it’s more cosmetics locked behind either a time wall or a paywall. I played a few games, didn’t really feel any different. The core game’s the same, matchmaking still does its weird thing sometimes.

Maybe I’ll unlock one through just playing normally over time, maybe not. Not gonna lose sleep over it. There was a time I’d chase every single skin, but nowadays? I just wanna log in, shoot some stuff, have a decent match, and log off. These skins are just window dressing.
